AC-4 Can communicate effectively in different forms both in English and Welsh 

Yn cymraeg- Applying knowledge of vocabulary on the topic of Gwyliau (holidays) to communicate to a friend via email and telephone about their recent trip to the Olympic Games! Some stunning text maps to help with their recording too! Da iawn pawb! 

AC-2 Are building up a body of knowledge and have the skills to connect and apply the knowledge in different contexts

Pupils have been exploring the musical elements before listening to some official Olympic music used in the opening ceremonies! They worked exceptionally hard to write their own appraisals using some of the musical vocabulary that they had learned about!

Creating Olympic Databases

Pupils have enjoyed creating their own Olympic databases today! Not only have they applied a variety of skills they have been amazed at some of the figures and information found!

Wow! Incredible presentations from all groups of children. We have been fortunate to watch their presentations presented through a variety of media! Bendegedig pawb!

What's the challenge? 

Children have been engaged exploring and gathering research to complete their recent Olympic challenges.

Each small group had the choice to present their findings in a media of their choice. We have had some amazing work! pupils have demonstrated range of talents and applied a wide range of skills to complete the task! We can't wait for their presentations to the class! 

Pupils have been applying many skills through different areas of learning whilst exploring 'The Olympics' past and present.

HCI-5 Take part in physical activity

Taking part in a selection of different events held during the Olympics. Shotput, Sprint and Hurdles the focus this week! Looking at the many different skills needed to ensure the sports are carried out correctly.  

AC-9 Undertake research and evaluate critically what they find

Finding out about the past! Through research and reading they have identified how participating in the Olympics over 3000 ago was hugely different compared to the modern day major event. They have then applied their knowledge to create their own timelines.
