One of our activities for today was to create a 'Kindness Calendar'. Looking at different acts of kindness we could do each day.

Our assembly today was all about making choices.

HIC5: I take part in physical activity

We took part in the 'daily mile' again today. We enjoy getting out and having a 'brain break' whilst developing our physical skills.

We enjoying watching Newsround at the end of the day to stay up to date with what is happening in the world.

We have been making the most of the weather today and enjoying the 'Trim Trail' for part of our daily exercise. We love having this opportunity to develop our skills.

Our virtual assembly this week was all about being unique. We love being able to still have assemblies, and hearing the different themes each week.

HCI8:  I take face and overcome fears

Another set of fun sessions on the Trim trail this week. We are getting more and more confident as the weeks go by.

HCI5:  I take part in physical activity

Cross-country is having to be completed a little different at the moment. We have been taking part within our PE lessons, using the school field as our track.

We have a wide range of Pupil voice groups in Pembroke Dock Community School. Class representatives have been announced and we are looking forward to beginning our new roles. 

PS3: I respect the rights of others and I understand how these impact on myself and others.

EIC6: I respect the needs and rights of others, as a member of a diverse society

We have started our new topic 'Don't hate educate'. We have discussed the possible learning opportunities and linked this to the Global Goals and the UNCRC Children's Rights. We have also started our new class novel 'The boy in the back of the class'.

Optimistic October

Pupil wellbeing is paramount and we ensure we give a range of opportunities for our pupils to participate in a range of well being activities. Adult well being is equally as important-get involved too and take care of you and your family together! Take a look at the well being calendar of ideas! Enjoy! 😁

A magnificent start the week as we went 'BIG' to take part in the #AntiBullyingAssembly2020.

children listened well, shared sensible ideas as a class and were able to empathise with others. They also enjoyed making their own pledges to put and end to bullying! Great work!

We have been finding creative ways to share our hobbies and interests. We enjoyed completed our silhouettes and discussing the reasons behind the things we included.

Today we voted for members of our class to represent us in a range of groups within the school.

We have been enjoying the virtual assemblies this term. We have also had time after to discuss the content of the assembly.

Having time to play outdoors is a great way to take part in physical activity while socialising with our friends.

We enjoying having the opportunity to complete our tasks outdoors.

'Brain breaks' are a great way to have a few minutes to rest our brain before our next activity starts. Especially if we can use the outdoors to complete a few 'brain break' activities.

We have been discussing the 'behaviour charter' today. We have been looking at and discussing the different elements that are included on the charter. 

PS3: I can pose and answer sensible questions and I have demonstrated an understanding of the importance of collecting relevant data that can be used to answer my questions.

We have been working in groups today looking at the children's rights articles. We discussed the rights within our groups and worked together to decide on the final ones to include. 

PS3: I can recognise that some decisions I make will have a long-term impact on my life and the lives of others. 

HCI4: I know how to find the information and support to keep safe and well. 

We have taken part in the HWB competition to present our knowledge of staying safe online. We had to discuss our success criteria as a class and present our ideas in a creative way.

We love having time on the new 'Trim Trail. We are becoming more confident every time we go on.

EIC2: I can engage with contemporary issues based upon my knowledge and values. 

During our 'Reading with empathy' sessions we discuss the characters, plots and themes in our books. It is always a very popular time of the day. We have a wide range of different books available from novels to picture books.
