PS3: can understand the consequences of my actions and the actions of others, and how these affect local, national and global issues.

EIC: I can understand and consider the impact of my actions when making choices and decisions 

Global Goal 12: Consumption and Waste was the focus of today's lesson. We have been discussing all the things that we waste and how we can reduce this. We then went onto using our reading skills to summarise the main points.  

PS3: I can form, express and discuss my own opinions on a range of issues after considering evidence and the views of others.

ECC: I can show the commitment to the sustainability of the planet.

Today we looked at all the different ways we can change the world. We discussed the different issues facing the world at present and then looked at what we can do to try and change the World. We thought of many different ways and had a great discussion about the different concepts. 

PS3: I have an understanding that injustice and inequality exist in societies. 

EIC: I engage with contemporary issues based upon their knowledge and values.

We used the VR Goggles today to explore the issues surrounding poverty. 

PS3: I can describe and give simple explanations about the impact of human actions on the natural world in the past and present.

ACL: I can build up a body of knowledge and have the skills to connect and apply that knowledge in different contexts

We enjoyed activating our prior knowledge today. We looked at the Sustainable Goals and what we already know about them from the range of work we have completed so far this year. 

PS3:I can identify and explain the main causes and effects of events in a range of contexts, and I can recognise how these impact communities and societies.

ACL: I am building up a body of knowledge and have the skills to connect and apply that knowledge in different contexts

Our research has been on the journey of Fairtrade footballs and the different processes that are followed. We looked at how the footballs arrive in our country and created a journey map to show our research.

PS3: I can describe how some different characteristics of communities and societies have changed, within and across periods of time, in my locality and in Wales, as well as in the wider world.

ECC: I can apply my knowledge and skills to create ideas and products

We have been looking at Welsh Love Spoons and why they are important. We also looked at the different symbols that can be included and their meanings. 

PS3: I can actively engage with a range of stimuli, and had opportunities to participate in enquiries, both collaboratively and independently

ACL: I can question and enjoy solving problems

Activating our prior knowledge today looking at Global Goal 1: Poverty. We have been sharing our ideas and understanding on the topic so far. We are looking forward to developing a greater of this goal and others throughout the term. 

PS3: I can use my experiences, knowledge and beliefs to generate ideas and frame enquiries

HCI: I have secure values and I am establishing their spiritual and ethical beliefs

We have been creating our own prayers today, giving thanks for the things that we are grateful for.

PS3: I can describe and explain the ways in which my life is similar and different to others, and I understand that not everyone shares the same experiences, beliefs and viewpoints.

EIC: I am knowledgeable about my culture, community, society and the world, now and in the past

Our recent assemblies have been linked to Christmas. It is fantastic that we can still take part virtually. 

PS3: I can locate places, in my locality and in Wales, as well as in the wider world. 

DCF: I can combine a range of multimedia components to produce an appropriate outcome

ACL: I can use digital technologies creatively to communicate, find and analyse information

We have been lucky to have the opportunity to meet a range of people during this term and decided to create an interactive map populated with all our information. We also included the different countries that had been mentioned within our class novel. 

PS3: I can understand the rules, norms and behaviours of different groups and situations, and I recognise that these have an influence that these have an influence on me 

DCF: I can demonstrate appropriate online behaviours

ACL: I can use digital technologies creatively to communicate, find and analyse information

We have been recalling the many different social media apps this week and estimating the age of use for each app. We then used our research to identify the purpose of each app. 

PS3: I can describe and explain the ways in which my life is similar and different to others, and I understand that not everyone shares the same experiences, beliefs and viewpoints.

EIC: I am knowledgeable about their culture, community, society and the world, now and in the past

Mrs Welsby has joined us on a Tuesday afternoon this term to complete some RE lessons. We had a fun first session looking at the Old Testament. 

Children are continuing to build on their knowledge of the real world and understand how to protect the future! They are thoroughly enjoying watching BBC Newsround for up to date broadcasts about wind power and progress on the Government's 2050 target! Many great reads too from The First News-so many super articles keeping our young people of the future informed. πŸŒŽπŸ‘¨πŸΌ‍πŸ’ΌπŸ™ŽπŸ½πŸ‘ Ethical Informed Citizens 

PS3: I can use appropriate methods to gather information related to my enquiries and I am able to interpret the information obtained in the context of the enquiry question. 

AC: I can explain the ideas and concepts I am learning about.

We have started our research on how wind turbines work and the technical components that are needed. Once we have completed our research we will be having a go at creating our own wind turbines.
