Today we have started looking at algebra and developing our strategies.

Mean, median, mode and range has been our focus this lesson. We have enjoyed the practical activities and understand the different definitions for each one. We look forward to developing this further throughout the week.

We have applied our prior knowledge to a range of graphs today. Once we have checked our answers we will know which graphs to focus on over the next few days.

We used our knowledge of ratio to create different recipes from given amounts.

Ratio has been the focus of our lesson today. We enjoyed taking part in the activities.

We have been developing our understanding of angles this week. First, we used our reasoning skills to activate our prior knowledge. Then we moved onto recognising, measuring and drawing angles.

Our Numeracy activity today was to look at the GDP per Capita for countries. We enjoyed extending our knowledge of the different countries.

Our reasoning task today was linked to angles. We used RADIO PDCS to ensure we used all the strategies we needed to use. We then activated our prior knowledge regarding angles.

PS3: I can fluently recall multiplication facts up to at least 10 x 10 and use these to derive related facts.

We enjoy developing our recall of times tables. We use a range of different activities to practice. 

PS3: I have experienced and explored simple multiplicative relationships that allow me to discuss the properties of number, including factors, multiples, prime and square numbers.

Today we have been using our reasoning skills and knowledge of factors to solve the problem. We used 'RADIOPDCS' to help us ensure we collected all the information we needed to solve the problem.

Multi-step problems as been the focus of out maths lesson today. We had to read the questions carefully, pulling out the main information needed to solve the problem. We then needed to apply our number skills to answer the questions correctly.

We completed a Numeracy lesson today focusing on planning a party for St David's Day. We had to use or budgeting skills to ensure we had enough food for everyone.

We have been looking at negative numbers today. Using a number line to help us position the numbers correctly.

Percentages has been the focus on our online Maths activity today. We were able to pick our own level of challenge and challenge ourselves.

During Maths this week we have been looking at area. We started with independently developing our reasoning skills and then looked at the strategy needed to find the area of shapes. Some of use even challenged ourselves to look at the area of compound shapes.

We enjoy practicing our Times tables using the range of different activities and apps. Today, we used 'TT Rockstars' a firm favourite with all the children in Year 5.

We have been using our Singapore Maths strategies today to develop our understanding of rounding numbers to the nearest 100, 1000 and 10000.

In our Numeracy lesson today we used our knowledge of reading timetables and calculating different times to help the characters from our class novel reach their destinations on time. We had a range of questions to answer, using a range of different strategies.

Always a good start to the day when you can use Kahoot! to develop your understanding of Times Tables.

Reading timetables has been our focus today. We have been using our skills to read a range of timetables.

Following on from our work on timing events, we have been looking at analogue and digital time. We have been completing practical and written activities.

We have had so much fun today completing our Maths work. We have been timing our partners completing different events and recording the times correctly. We then had to order the results from fastest to slowest.

Today, we have been using our knowledge of bar charts and pie charts to interpret sets of data. 

PS3: I can represent information by creating a variety of appropriate charts of increasing complexity, including tally charts, frequency tables, bar graphs and line graphs.

We have been developing our data skills today by drawing a graph using graph paper. We then had to plot two different sets of data.

Using Singapore Maths, we have been working together to interpret data in graphs. Once confident with this we applied our prior knowledge and completed independent activities.

We have been working hard on our reasoning skills this week, using CUBES. Once we had decided on the correct methods to use to solve the problems, we then used Seesaw to explain our answers.

We have used our knowledge of number facts to answer word problems. We have also used inverse operations to check our answers.

We have been combining a range of skills today to create databases on different wind farms around the UK. Once complete we analysed the data that we collected.
