Pembroke Dock Community School recently celebrated its first International Day with children celebrating being global citizens by learning about the traditions and cultures of different countries. Following on from receiving our British Council’s International Schools Foundation Award last year, we are working towards our Intermediate Award. To achieve this we are committed to developing internationalism by making links with international schools and enriching education for the pupils by bringing an essential global dimension to learning and encouraging the development of skills that children need to be global citizens of the future.
Mrs Kelso-Williams, International Schools coordinator said “The children thoroughly enjoyed the different aspects of our International Day with activities ranging from dressing up and food tasting to researching different languages and developing their understanding of the importance of becoming global citizens. As a school we are dedicated to embedding an international ethos and developing international relationships with children across the world.”
