Science & Technology

PS3 I can engage with scientific and technological evidence to inform my own opinions.

EIC: I set can communicate effectively in different forms and settings, using both Welsh and English

Our Science investigation is looking at composting and Green houses gases. We have planned our investigation ready to take part in the practical activity later in the week.

PS3 I can explain and debug algorithms.

EIC:I set myself high standards and seek and enjoy challenge.

We developed our coding skills today with Mr Jenkins. We enjoy the challenge and creating things with the coding programmes.

PS3 I can use conditional statements to add control and decision-making to algorithms.

ACL: I can use digital technologies creatively

We enjoyed having some time to develop of skill son Hour of Code today. Working independently to create our own piece of coding by following the online instructions.

PS3 I can explain the importance of securing the technology I use and protecting the integrity of my data.

ACL: I can use digital technologies creatively to communicate, find and analyse information

We have worked collaboratively to remind use of the importance of online safety. We have looked at the rules and had a great discussion on why they are important.

PS3 I can explain how the properties of sound and light will affect how they are experienced.

ACL: I am building up a body of knowledge

We have been working on shadows today. We have enjoyed researching the different scientific vocabulary and the definitions for each.

PS3: I can explain how the properties of sound and light will affect how they are experienced.

ACL: I can undertake research and evaluate critically what they find.

Our focus today was to use the TASC wheel to complete a science investigation on 'Refraction'. We have worked through the different parts of the wheel, trying to use our scientific vocabulary throughout.

PS3 I can explain how the properties of sound and light will affect how they are experienced.

ACL: I can use digital technologies creatively to communicate, find and analyse information

We have worked collaboratively to activate our prior knowledge of light. We used Jamboard to share our ideas with our peers.

PS3: I can creatively respond to the needs and wants of the user, based on the context and on the information collected.

ECC: I can express ideas and emotions through different media

Using our knowledge of the eye we created our own posters sharing our knowledge. We used a media of our choice to make the poster and included a range of elements.

PS3: I can engage with scientific and technological evidence to inform my own opinions.

ACL: I can set myself high standards and I seek and enjoy challenge.

We have been researching the human eye today. Looking at the different parts of the eye. We had a go at a first attempt and then after some research a second attempt.

PS3: I can suggest conclusions as a result of carrying out my inquiries.

EIC:I can understand and exercise their human and democratic responsibilities and rights.

We have carried our a Science experiment today, looking at germs.

Awesome STEM lerning today! Pupils collated their recent engineering and coding skills to program their very own wind turbine to function and rotate according to the volume of noise they created! Fantastic stuff! Such fun too! 👏😄

PS3: I can apply my knowledge and skills when making design decisions in order to produce specific outcomes.

EIC:I can understand and exercise their human and democratic responsibilities and rights.

Super STEM learning today with K'nex and the 3D printer. Pupils have had fun experimenting with digital design and overcome challenges within their team to engineer their wind turbine models.
